Case Study: Exude

Situation

Exude provides benefits administration and HR consulting to companies in the Philadelphia area, and they do benefits like no other company: they make them fun. Everything was going well when Exude came to us -- it just wasn't happening fast enough.

Challenge

To accelerate the company's growth, Exude needed to attract more prospects -- that was a given. More importantly, though, they needed to turn more of those prospects into clients.

Solution

First, Exude's sales process clearly needed to be fixed. We took a look at it, then issued recommendations to the sales team designed to increase both close rate and number of referrals.

To further stop good prospects from falling through the cracks, we started a monthly email campaign to prospects, clients and partners, providing relevant benefits news and information -- not just sales pitches for Exude. Each email heavily encouraged readers to interact with Exude's new website, which we designed to showcase the company's uniquely exciting approach to benefits.

But could benefits really be exciting? Exude thought so, and we agreed, so we created a "Benefits Kickoff Party" -- fun posters, brochures and other materials to pump employees up about their new benefits plan. How many other benefits providers throw a party for their clients' employees? Not many... which made word spread fast about Exude.

Results

  • A 50% increase in close ratio (from 35% to 85%)
  • A 50% increase in website traffic, resulting in more leads
  • Improved referral marketing, enabling Exude to serve all of PA, not just Philadelphia

Exude now administers their marketing in-house, but continues monthly consultations with Square 2 Marketing.
