Careers: Senior Web Designer.

The Senior Web Designer is responsible for executing and aiding in the development of front-end website, email, and other applicable interactive design for all Square 2 Marketing clients – up to 4-8 interactive projects simultaneously, depending on client volume. Whether it's a website that needs a complete redesign or a simple one-time email, you'll need to deliver a modern design with a highly functional user interface (UI) that's precisely targeted to the client's target audience.

At Square 2 Marketing, the website is considered to be the cornerstone of all other marketing efforts, so the Senior Web Designer must be able to produce designs that strongly carry the client's creative concept and brand, making the design of other interactive materials easier. Consequently, this position is as much about good design as it is about working effectively with the team. The Senior Web Designer must also provide feedback and direction to other Graphic Designers working on supplemental or alternative interactive designs, when necessary.

Responsibilities

Here's a summary of how you can expect to spend your day as our Senior Web Designer:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and other Graphic Designers to hone creative concepts and strategies into effective website designs – usually three to four separate designs, with you directly designing at least 1-2 of those
  • Consult with the Senior Web Developer to incorporate “hooks” for technological wizardry in the development phase
  • Oversee and/or design interior pages, emails, and other supporting interactive materials based on an approved home page concept
  • Work closely with the Senior Web Developer to ensure all design elements are carried out appropriately in development

Prerequisites

  • B.A. in Graphic Design or related field
  • 5-10 years' experience in designing for the web, including (but not limited to) websites and emails
  • Extensive portfolio of modern, attractive, user-friendly web designs for a variety of industries and target markets
  • Ability to deliver designs that are highly tailored to the appropriate audience, including demographic-related considerations in font, colors, and overall layout
  • Eagerness to keep up with developments in the field through both individual research and guided extended learning
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentations
  • Experience and comfort with Adobe Creative Suite a must
  • Expertise in HTML a plus
