Career: Email Marketing Manager.
The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for executing and overseeing the email campaigns of all applicable Square 2 Marketing clients – up to 5-10 emails every week, depending on client volume. You'll see emails through from beginning to end, from laying out copy into an approved design to providing insight on the email's performance after it's been sent.
To find success in this position, you'll need the ability to simultaneously keep track of several projects at different stages of completition. A truly stellar Email Marketing Manager should have no problem generating a performance report and analysis one minute, and taking a design from Illustrator or Photoshop to HTML the next.
Responsibilities
Here's a summary of how you can expect to spend your day as our Email Marketing Manager:
- Work with the Creative Director and Senior Web Designer to generate email templates that encourage high deliverability, readability and conversions
- Make recommendations to the Senior Copywriter on what's working and what isn't in email copy
- Create working emails from copy and templates using HTML and CSS
- Manage audience lists and the sending of all emails through our email marketing vendor, MyEmma
- Provide intelligent reporting on email blasts that's easy to understand and contains recommendations to improve performance
Prerequisites
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field
- 3-5 years' experience managing email campaigns and delivery
- Familiarity with enterprise-level reporting tools
- Ability to articulate and champion email marketing best practices and standards
- Passion for data and metrics
- Thorough understanding of HTML and CSS
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentations and the ability to present data in an easy-to-understand form
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
- Eagerness to stay on the cutting edge of the field through both individual research and guided extended learning
- Experience and comfort with Adobe Creative Suite a must
